Hello guys, new guy here. I have a BCG that I took in on trade a year or so ago. It's a full auto bolt carrier but that's about the most I know. It is stamped with an A on the left side and the bolt is stamped MPMC. I'm at work right now, but I have pictures on my phone and will try to get them posted later if I can figure its out. Well, the bolt is made by Colt.
M = Magna Particle tested
P = Proof load tested
C = Colt
MPxC = the x is a mfg date code.

Well that makes a little sense. I'll give a little backstory. I took in some AR parts on a trade a year or so back. The upper and a "colt" BCG was included. This being the bolt carrier group. The guy also threw in some P-Mags and talked about running the gun with a suppressor. He stated that he didn't need the P-Mags anymore because work was switching to only metal. On top of that an Army back up sight was included on the lower that was "just laying around". About 6 months back I was doing some research on the BCG and came across something that talked about the carrier being marked A and that it was a company that was contracted to do replacement parts for the military. But I didn't write it down and have since lost the link to that forum. So I don't feel so bad now that I took in a Colt BCG on trade, well at least the bolt anyways lol. Thanks for the help now if I could figure out a little more about the carrier.
Ya got me with the carrier marked "A". I just don't know. The replacement part theory rings true.
Yeah I didn't get a lot of information out of the guy. Seemed military or ex military, possibly private contractor which would of explained some of the talk of not being aloud to use P-Mags at work and the spare sight just laying around. As well as the replacement part of they have some sort of contract as well. Thanks for the info though.
