Just recently, i got into guns and now interested to fix this old gun if possible. The gun is in Canada at the moment but i have the stock. The stock some markings on it but i have not been able to find anything about them. So i thought i would seek some help.

I tried finding the insignia in Blue Book, but did not see it.

its way before the german mauser. its a single shot 9mm riffle with a bolt that opens a door for ejection

Would like to help, but barell markings must be known.....possible from your "international " spread of parts (LOL)
possible an old Flobert ...if is a 9mm...then may be a rim or center fire FLobert...? not same as 9mm pistol cartridge !

Or...possibly a " Warnants" design single shot style.....might be area to look.

regards,

ill have to a ask my grandfather about if has rifling or not. that would be a big help in figuring this out.
For 1shot1k, the markings on the gun are pretty worn out. the only thing my grandfather can see is that it has 9mm, Germany and the SL logo (see stock picture of SL) marked on it.

I think 1shot got it right again (as usual)... It's a coincidence but I am in the process of buying a Flobert rifle as we speak. The Flobert round, as I understand it, was the beginning of the .22 rimfire round we know today.

They were not actually .22 but rather 6mm. They also made a 9mm rimfire and as someone said it is not the 9mm we know today.

If it is a Flobert, unless it is one of their fancy engraved custom jobs, they are not worth a lot of money. They called the original Floberts "parlor" guns because they shot them indoors at parties. On the other hand they are a cool old gun with a history.

Here are a couple photos of the one I am after...

finally got the barrel :)
its a deutsche werke werk erfurt shotgun
i found this http://arms2armor.com/Firearms/DEUTSCHEWERKE22LR.htm
German Youth Rifle, .22 LR caliber, manufactured by Deutsche Werke, Werk Erfurt, Germany between 1919 and 1939. Single-shot, tip-up breech for loading and ejecting shell; with bolt pull for cocking and safety. Deutsche Werke logo - a stylized "D" being formed by what is referred to as a "dormant lion" with the tail forming the "belly" of the D - inside a circle on breech-block and left side of stock. The left barrel reads "CAL .22 LONG RIFLE". The right hing plate is stamped "D.R.P./Germany" for Deutsche Reichspatent (Patented in Germany). The breech block is stamped "Mod. / I under the logo mentioned above. These rifles bear a strong resemblance to other "survival" rifles used by various military forces.
Overall length is ~37"; barrel length is ~19"; good bore.

In your earlier post you say it is stamped 9mm. If that is the case, you will probably find it to be a shotgun.

The only ammo I can find is here, the very bottom one. http://www.fiocchiusa.com/cat_rimfire.html

I have been able to get it at Midway once in a while, the best price I have found.

it does have some rust in the bore. the bore is smooth making it in a 9mm shotgun

Amazing! I thought I had the only weird little gun in the world like this (my dad's 9MM baby shotgun). Now I know that crazy "S" is really a "D". Proof if you keep "Googling" long enough you can find out almost anything! However, NOT proof that a million monkeys on a million keyboards will recreate the entire works of William Shakespeare! Not yet, anyways.

its a great gun. Its a Deutsche Werke model 1. made in 1924 to 1934. The factory was bombed in WW2 and was closed. The gun was made mainly for rodent control. Mine is missing the bolt. Could you please get me the dimensions and maybe a picture of the workings? i am trying to find someone that can make the bolt for it. I have found ammo for it and would love to be able to shoot it.

Deutsche Werke model 1 - Bolt Details

-----------------
Sorry for delay, hard to get back here... attached 4 pics... looks a bit hard to cut down 9mm bolt to 6mm forward of trigger latch, maybe easier to start out with 6mm and sleeve rear trigger latch part up to 9mm with metal tubing... though may be easy fro a machinist or tool and die man... can come to no harm as all back pressure contained by your own breech block... good luck!
