You don't want to end up going full semi, dangerous stuff.
That is going to follow that guy forever and give us a endless supply of funny comments for years to come.

OK. I know now that my ARs have a "Full-Semi-Auto" mode. Sure is a good thing that firearms expert pointed out this little known feature. Is there a "Semi-Semi-Auto" fire mode I don't know about? :mad2:
Yes there is. It is usually referenced as " Bolt Action " But I don't know what that cute little dog from the movie has to do with shooting.

Oh, you have one of the OLD type 2 AR receivers, with selector switches which only have "Safe" and "Fire" . The NEW fire selector switches, on the rifle which
was demonstrated on TV, have SEVEN positions on the Fire Selector:

1-Fully Automatic
2- Partial Automatic
3-Fully Semi Automatic-THIS is the really dangerous one; makes an army general shake, like a rag-doll, when firing a 22, and each shot mysteriously sounds louder than
a atom-bomb.
4-Partial Semi Automatic
5-Fully Single Fire
6-Partial Single Fire
7-Safe

For indoor home defense? Neither. Rifle rounds have too much muzzle blast to be used indoors without ear protection.

Get yourself a Beretta CX4 Storm or something similar in your favorite pistol caliber.

No, it’s not as devastating as a rifle, but it will definitely get the job done.

It also won’t leave you half-deaf with terrible ringing in your ears for the rest of your life.

It’s all about using the right tool for the right job.

If you’re worried about multiple guys in body armor breaking into your home, thinking you need a rifle... I would say the problem isn’t the weapon, it’s your life choices and maybe you ought to re-think those.

A hand gun is a terrible choice for a home defense weapon versus a shotgun or Ar15.

A pistol caliber carbine would be far more suitable than a .223/5.56. But the best choice is a decent pistol or a shotgun. .233/5.56 is too loud and will over penetrate. If you think a long gun is best then look at a good shotgun or pistol caliber carbine and then learn to use em! None of what I am saying is new, just reinforcing the ideas that have already been presented.

I must respectfully disagree with you. I'm in the middle of 1,400 acres. LEO is, on a good day, 45 minutes from me. So my first choice is one of my M1s. I don't care what you hind behind, I'm going to move your ass away from there. The last time I called LEO it took an hour to see them at my door step. I just told him to bring a body bag the next time.
