Hell I can't see the balloon at 1000, let alone hit it - and that's with a rifle and scope, let alone a revolver
That's exactly what happened but it's still an amazing shot to hit the plate at that distance. Hell, even seeing it is a challenge.Just guessing, Jerry didn't see the balloon, but the steel plate the balloon was attached to. AND the bullet may not have hit the balloon directly, but hit the steel plate, fragmented and at least one of the bullet fragments popped the balloon. Just a thought.
Problem is we're not in space there's gravity and air resistance and the power behind a 9mm bullet will only send it so farIn the video he said he was aiming 75-80 yards above the target.
A 9mm will have plenty of power left at 1000 yds to do that. There is a rock about the size of two basketballs on the berm at my range at 400yds. We frequently try to shot it with handguns but it only works when the ground is real dry and dusty so we can see where we're hitting. We hit it often but certainly not on the first or second try....well me anyway, my buddy seems to do much better. With a .45 you have to aim real high at that distance compared to a 9mmProblem is we're not in space there's gravity and air resistance and the power behind a 9mm bullet will only send it so far
Call me skeptical but I can't see how that bullet reached that plate even less with enough power to splat and burst the balloon with fragments even if it's from Jerry.
