What was your last major firearm purchase????? Post up pictures if you have them. :D

My last firearm purchase was a Springfield XD-40 Subcompact. It has been a fantastic pistol with not a single misfire in 1,500+ rounds.

Our last major purchase was my Dirty Harry .44mag. Went to a gun show looking for a used Redhawk or Blackhawk in .44mag to go hog hunting with. Went all over the show and couldn't even find a new one. On the way out I seen the S&W .44 Classic at a small table. I was looking at it and I knew it was a $1,000 gun. Way out of my league. I gave it back and started to leave and then bang :--- the wife steps up to the guy and says how much? Guy says $920 and the wife I'll give you $800. He pauses and say $800+tax and she says sold. I about passed out. She even bought the Cherry wood stocks for it. You just gotta love them. I was doing back flips out of the place. It is one sweet shooting gun. Hogs beware.
S&W Model 29-10 Classic .44mg.

With the Dirty Harry stocks.

Last one I bought is a Ruger MkIII target in stainless, a real fine plinker, however I am not ever gonna take it apart ever again. I got home with it and of course the first thing I did was strip it. Took a while to get it back together, Stripped it once more after a few big boxes of ammo. And never again.

I think everyone goes through that with the MK's their first time. I have a MKII that had never been taken apart. I finally pulled it apart a few weeks ago and took me a good half hour just to get it back together. I still don't know if I did it right

bat1159man- I love the XD-45, great choice. That will be my next XD purchase for sure. I am torn on whether to get the full size or the compact. Hmmm.....

I was leaning toward the Tactical originally but rented and tested both and felt the Service was better for me. I do not think you will go wron either way.

By the way - nice name. My younger son is Derek.
