Wouldn't suggest that choke for varmints, spreads out too much. Need a full choke with #2 or #3 buck. Even then it's hard to get close enough for a killing shot. I shoot varmints with a .223 as I don't like cripples.

I agree with Mr Whompuss a shotgun isn't my choice for dog size varmits. I used to have a .357 rifle that done a fine job and a old .30-30 for them 100yd shots. ;)
