And what good will your AR do you if your in jail for murder or if your dead trying to keep it?
Two opposite sides comments to yours:

Good thing the patriots in 1776 didn't buy that argument. This was the view of the Founders on jail or death for freedom:

We pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor.
On the other side of the argument, a wise man chooses when to fight carefully. I hope and pray it never comes to it but, if it becomes necessary, getting guns will never be difficult in this country - even ARs or other battle rifles, including machine guns.

Let's chase this. When did you take the oath and are you still bound by it?

The reason I ask is that the only people allowed to defend the Constitution are those who take an oath to do so in compliance with a duty to do so.
Yep, let's chase this. Where in law or the Constitution does it say that only those who take an oath to do so in compliance with a duty to do so can defend the Constitution?

I swore an oath to myself to defend the Constitution.

Joseph Story said:
I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few public officials.

Hmmm. As a commissioned officer I was never discharged from the service. I was relieved from active duty and placed on inactive reserve status. So, by your twisted logic, my oath still stands.

BigNasty, Your trolling is wearing thin your welcome here. Stop it.
We need BigNasty and/or others like him. One of the things I noticed about this forum when I first joined is that mostly there's not much debate - because, mostly, we all agree with each other. It takes a good troll or left-wing socialist to give us the reason to dig up the evidence and the responses to what the left claims.

We don't have to convince one-another, and we'll never convince BigNasty, but maybe, just maybe, we'll influence someone not fully committed to the leftwing talking points just because they're the leftwing talking points.

Never took the oath you veterans have taken.
But I have Pledged Allegiance to this country
They were never just words for me.
I will defend the Constitution as a citizen and a native son of these United States from all enemies foreign and domestic .
You defend the Constitution as a member of the militia.

My oath to defend MY country and IT"S constitution was being born here and being thankful for it. It was saying the pledge of allegiance everyday and meaning it. It was doing my civic duty and voting in every election I am eligible to participate in. Anyone who claims to have made an oath without that understanding and the conviction it relays was just reciting words from a page.

When a citizen is a victim of crime, they call the police. The police don't just show up at most people's house on a feeling, because they are afraid you MIGHT be burgled tonight or they heard there was going to be a gang land drive through shooting next door to you. They show up when you CALL them, AFTER THE CRIME IS COMMITTED. Same for Walmart, they come after the CRIMINALS stealing from Walmart have or ARE stealing. Tax payers don't hire city police to just stand around serving as full time Walmart security. Walmart is fine and dandy with all this. Think about it for a minute, IF THE POLICE WHO SHOW UP AFTER THE FACT NEED GUNS TO SHOW UP AND WALK IN TO WALMART, YOU BET YOUR ASS I NEED MY GUN TO GO SHOP AND THAT DEN OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. I want to live just as much as any police officer, if he needs a gun to go there, I need a gun to go there. If he needs his gun in a holster on his hip to feel safe walking through Walmart parking lot and store, then I need my gun. There are NO SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IN THIS COUNTRY! We all are entitled to equal protection AND SELF DEFENSE under the laws of this country and in the eyes of GOD. ACCEPT NOTHING ELSE!

better add me in with bignasty I am neither Left or Right I choose to pick based on the issue sometimes I don't agree with either side like the nut houses. But morally and ethically I know I am in the right on the nut house stance. Since I been following that since they started teaching history in school.

oops did not see bignasty being banned I was simply referring to opposing views or even parallel views. Please don't ban me. Just trying to see effective change that allows us to live together without killing each other.

Ideologically there is no second or third class citizens. But reality there are 5 classes of citizens I been able to pinpoint. you want to be part of the first class. then you have you blacks, native Americans, immigrants in 2nd class , Then third class is people with disabilities this class competes with 4th class AND 5th class depending on level and type of disabilities, 4th class prison criminals of sound mind. 5th class anyone abdicated as mentally defective.

This class system is based on the level of rights they are allowed to exercise and enforce. personally I fall in class 3.

it may be difficult for honest law abiding people who never did anything under the table. They would not have the contacts to get those firearms in a time of emergencies. They would most likely fumble around alerting who ever it trying to do harm on massive scale or disarm the population and get themselves thrown in some kind of concentration camp or guarded refugee camp.

It sure seems like you milk this disability thing in every post you make. What type of disability do you have? Is it that you can't physically work or don't want to? Didn't you move from Idaho to Oklahoma, I may be mistaken on that one. Do you get disabled social security, vet benefits, SNAP program? You sure cry a lot.

Pretty soon, if a fellow plays "Devil's Advocate" enough, he becomes the Devil's Advocate and eventually, the Devil himself.

BigNasty, over time, played himself into the role of a quite sophisticated and intelligent troll. He proved himself to be an expert at twisting words, slightly off topic posts (when he was cornered) and skating the edges of acceptability. He quoted from leftist websites, often without crediting or citing the source. He went from a staunch Second Amendment supporter to advocating the banning of certain firearms he had no use for. He was PMed, by different moderators, several times about his conduct. His replies were combative.

It would prove unwise to follow his example.

Either you haven't been here long or you're not paying attention. I think I've been here 7 or so years and many here have been here much longer. I have seen many disagreements between members (with myself included)on a variety of subjects from religion, politics and including how gun control should or shouldn't work. The difference is how it's done with or without personal attacks, name calling etc. Just because many of us disagree on certain things does not mean we can't and aren't friends and can be civil with one another. It's the people who cross those boundaries that are removed from the site.

I had to run to wall mart this morning real quick. I threw on a pair of those casual pants with an elastic waste band and grabbed my new to me P380, it's light enough to hang in my waste band. Ever since Walmart said they were discontinuing ammo sales, I've notice I've been being followed around the store a lot, security I guess. So I'm doing my shopping, and this guy walks up to me and accuses me of stealing the pants, they still had the tags on them! So I talk to him and he agreed that if I just paid for them, it would be ok. So I'm up at customer service, I tear the tags ogg and hand them to her, and she starts ringing it up. Then there is a commotion behind me, and there is a small gathering and chatting something about a car being searched for guns. The lady ringing up my already paid for pants, says she isn't going to finish until this other thing is figured out. That little pistol, as light as it is, is trying to squirm out of the elastic band, so I keep tucking it up, getting a little frustrated.........then I woke up, I said to myself "That was strange."

Back on the walmart ammo deal. Folks are wiping out 22lr at ours and 9mm. I did score the last box of winchester 555. Plenty of bulk boxes of 40 and 45 acp and 223/556 left. And a lot of self defence ammo left.

If gun owners were smart they wouldn't buy any from walmart at any price. They said they were going to sell their stock and not buy more. If that stock just sat there it would send them a message and it would make it appear to the dems they were still selling it long after they said they wouldn't.....

I have said on another forum, we need focused - scheduled boycotts. Every month we focus our efforts as a society of constitution supporters, specifically as gun rights advocates, towards a commercial enterprise. November 1st we start a movement to boycott Walmart. December first we boycott cvs, then target and so on.

All we are doing now is flapping our wings and blowing hot air. Calling for a boycott of everyone will not work. It has to be focused and rotated for them to feel the impact.

Just my 2 cents....
