When I lived in Winnemucca (Where everything immoral is legal), we had a town of 5,000 and 5 brothels to go with the 4 casinos. No issues with any of the girls, the cat houses were out of sight from the traveling public (but a simple inquiry would get you the location). Many a Basque father would bring their son there for his "initiation". Just the way things were done..........

Let us look at this scenario: We make prostitution legal, but control it. For example, they will be restricted to a specific area of town, they will pay a business tax, we persecute pimps. The money collected from their taxes are put to finance a clinic were they are to be checked often for VD and other illness, the rest of the money can be used to pay for educating the women. A lot of women that do prostitution, do so because they barely finish high school. Maybe if we train them in another marketable profession, they may stop prostituting themselves.
Those that are left is because they enjoy the life.

Prostitution is known to be the "older profession", I say let them do it and regulate then like another business, just like they do in Nevada. I could be wrong on this, but this solution is an option to consider.

Except most of the girls in Nevada aren't high school dropouts. Those girls you find working for pimps illegally on the street and doing drugs. Most are either housewives earning extra Christmas money (especially from October through December) or college girls earning tuition money while telling their parents they're working in a casino as a cocktail waitress or blackjack dealer.
They have a state ID card like a casino employee, are checked medically every week; MUST use a condom, and cannot ply their trade outside of their brothel; also no illegal drugs allowed.

Just a matter of time when all sin/evil is taxed.

And what is wrong with that?
If you choose to play, then you choose to pay; whether that is sex, tobacco, alcohol or whatever.

My wife told to go right ahead and enjoy myself.

My wife said to go ahead and have a good time. She also said I’d have to move out and give her most of my stuff except my tools because I’m going to need them to earn money for her. In a way that makes me the prostitute and her the pimp.

Some women are in prostitution because they do not know anything else, this group are usually the ones that falls into the pimp controlled word and into the drug scene, these women are the ones that are to be helped with education, getting free from drugs, and jailing their pimps.
Like I said in my post, prostitution is the "older profession", and there always will be women that are willing to do it, because the amount of money to be made, because they actually enjoy the profession, etc. Some of these women have degrees but have decided that they prefer to prostitute themselves rather than work in a office. Let us given then a business license, create reasonable rules, and let them practice their chosen "profession".

And I disagree. Having lived in NV for over 22 years, I have no problem with the way they handle it compared to everywhere else where drugs, child trafficking, disease and abuse abound. Since it will never go away, might as well make it safer for all involved.

Call me what you wish, but exploiting women as objects of sex is just wrong. Teaching respect is a trait we have lost as a nation. As we openly accept and exploit evil and sinful living, we will reap the what we sow......as we have already seen and experienced. This will not help the moral downward spiral we are experiencing. I'll take the narrow road on this one.

My God tells me it is wrong....it's wrong.

When there is a free exchange of compensation for services rendered, there is no exploitation when both are willing participants. In that scenario, it's not even a question of morality; morality doesn't even play into any of the equations.

There is a misconception that sex requires love and monogamy and that simply isn't true. Putting sex into a monogamous loving relationship is a choice and a commitment most often tied to marriage and child-rearing. I happen to agree with that belief, for the most part. But as far as prostitution is concerned, legal exchanges of money for sex are not problematic. It's merely a transaction.

Plenty of other elements related to the discussion of how sex relates to relationships but as long as there is consent on all sides, where is the problem? And no, "it's just wrong," is no answer.

I didn't call you anything; as Wag mentioned, there is no exploitation when there are two parties agreeing on a transaction. How is that really any different than taking a woman to dinner and a club, paying for it all, and then getting some sex in exchange later that evening?

I won't even get into a discussion about God, organized religion or similar, since man created God in his own image..........
