I also read somewhere that they carried a Large cal single or double shot pistols on the side of there elephants in India,sometimes Tigers after being hit but not slain would charge(nothing unusual 4 Dangerous game and jump up on the carrier! the pistol was a last chance at life kinda thing.

I had the misfortune of getting to shoot one at a local range that one of the good Ole boys brought down. The thing separated my A.C. joint but what a gun. :---

Thats no good! think about it like this though,there are plp out there would GIVE a Nad...yes that means me :!: to get the chance to squeeze on one,for me its the history behind Big bore doubles :cool: What cal was it :?:

i think it was bob brister, who used to be the gun editor for field & stream, said he shot a .600 nitro express in h&h i think, and he said nothing on this earth could get him to do it again, at a paper target anyhow. i personally get enough of a "kick" out of my 7mm rem ultra mag and my .338 win.mag. pblsyd
