Trump to address the nation monday morning about the shootings.....

Not to come across as paranoid and subject to a knee-jerk reaction.......but i just did my own knee-jerk reaction and ordered 2 additional 15 rd magazines for my ruger from midway usa....a duty-size 9mm handgun that i hardly shoot, do not compete with, and have no desire to carry or reload for......but it takes 15 rd mags that are evil and subject to a ban.

this is why i am paranoid.........trump stated that he has been in contact with congress, governors, and other political talking heads about the back to back shootings......and trump said it is time to do something.

my tin foil hat senses are saying that trump is about to pull something that will be anti-gun via executive order. I have no idea what that might involve....

i love trump....he is a loose cannon, he is not part of the establishment, he is indeed a nationalist....which is a good thing. But trump is also shrewd, he plans, and he can play a crowd.

obama did not accomplish one significant anti-gun measure in 8 years......and two of those years with a democrat controled house and senate.........trump could executive order something in, still not lose his base as there is always fear a democrat in office would expand or do worse, and trump doing this as his ramrod approach still would not hurt the republican party.....and the economy still flourishes.....which is his biggest plus.

yep.....for some reason i am paranoid more at this time than any other simply because trump is unpredictable.

so......i have two brand new mecgar mags inbound......they were actually on sale.......do not even know if i will take them out of the package when they arrive. I bumped a set of grips and a silicone gun case off the list to be able to afford it......will pick them up the next time around......maybe.

i was so furious with the news media today that i almost talked myself into a black rifle......almost.

instead, i think i will research some bolt action rifles that will accept AR mags........just because...

I was just checking on my inventory of mags thinking about what is going on. What im concerned about will we have to give up our higher cap mags over what round count if they decide on a limit? And have to buy all new compliant ones will what we have be grandfathered in? Can we put a device in our mags to limit the rounds if need be? I think i asked before but my memory is not what it used to be these days.
I'm thinking the other way. If AR's aren't banned tomorrow, I'm dumping mine at the nearest pawn shop, I don't want a paper weight that could get me in trouble, and I sure don't want to turn it over to law enforcement for nothing. I have my pistols for self defense, but I haven't been to the range in over six months, and I could pay bills. I'm probably getting rid of it anyway.

i seriously thought about the black rifle.........but i came to realize that it would also become a paper weight......i just simply do not like them, hunt with one, plink with one, or compete with one.......and the rifle was never my go-to long gun tool for defense or offense........i simply prefer a shotgun.

....but the thought of someone telling me i can not have one is what plays on emotions.

i hope i am wrong.........and nothing serious comes down under trump's watch.......but he could actually score some independent votes and not hurt the republican party in the process.....even the die-hard republican voters know he is actually an independent and a maverick......and will not stay at home on election day in protest because a democrat would be worse....

I think they will push for red flag on the mental illness folks harder. And the try to improve the background check systems before any bans. Im hoping at least. They do need to keep a better eye on the mentally ill. Im sure every town has there share of some who are ''out there'' walking the streets. I know we sure do.

The only reason I got mine was because I thought hillary was going to win, and I knew she would ban them, I guess 3 years ago I was willing to possess one illegally.

I think it was the Dayton shooter they said there were no red flags, but they haven't had much time to dig around. And I'm sure he knew where his sister was, she may have been a target.
i am thinking some type of mandatory waiting period...........and you can probably kiss ultra high capacity mags good-bye......as in those 100 rd drum style.......

when trump says he will act.......well, he generally acts. What that act will consist of....who knows. I ordered my mags......if nothing happens significant tomorrow, then no harm/no foul........is something does happen or he starts talking some serious crapola, then there is going to be a run on everything........

if i was smart, i probably should had bought some Ruger stock shares instead of magazines........

I have 3 ar 22's. Not sure if it came down to it they would ban them. And i have my Marlin 60 it has the tube feed and holds more than 10 rounds. The mags i was checking on is my handgun ones. I don't shoot the ae 22's much any more. They were fun at first. The novelty wore off. I been thinking about just keeping my SW mp 15-22 and selling the 2 mossburg ones.
In Calif. the limit is 10 round mags. My 30's are in a Tupperware container and buried but I'll be damned if I remember where.

My AR 22's mags are 25 rounds.

Snap out of it! Think man, think!

If we all do that they won. We will just self disarm of any weapon they think we do not need. Which will they come for next? Your semi automatic pistol! After all it is a semi. You do not need that use a revolver!
Not all my rifles are for hunting, some are for self defense.
Also some are for the original intent of the 2nd Amendment. When the government becomes the enemy of the people.
Study history please.

And what am I going to do with it? Grab my 20 lbs of ammo and go to war? I can barely get out of my recliner. I don't need it, not going to use it, and I need money. I've been thinking about getting rid of it anyway. I'm not getting younger and healthier, the only thing I can do is vote. The pawn shop will pass it on to someone who wants it.

My gun club has a 5-round max for loading in any size magazine or revolver. I'm OK with that. :smile5: As far as any upcoming wars go, I own no rifles.

Nothing about guns, he's going after mental illness. Now listen to the hate filled rhetoric come from the democrat media. Sad.

Good speech lets see how the leftist gun haters respond. It was presidential he identified problems that we can work to solve to help the problem not feel good antigun talking points.
With the immigration reform add-on, Dems won't go down that road even if it includes stronger background checks.

Was not trying to disrespect you. If you do not want it and feel you do not need it and have outgrown it.
Those are valid reasons to sell a gun.
I was trying to say we should not get rid of our weapons because the left is making it uncomfortable for us to have them.
Hope I did not offend.

status quo for now....thank goodness.

glad my increased paranoia was unfounded......
No offense taken Kilt. I've just been threatening to sell this thing for some time. I have over 800 rounds for it, that the pawn shops won't take, maybe I ought to go to the range and have a blast!
