... that silly "a new post has been added" crap that makes you visit the thread again before posting. Once this board gets busy (which it will) it will become a major problem and a turn off to some people. I mod another forum that gets thousands of posts a day and it is common to have 5 or 6 posts in a minute in an active thread.

When you go to post and before you hit the Post reply button someone else has already replied. This lets you see what someone posted seconds before you do.

No, it doesn't. Honestly, you will lose posters with this once the board becomes more active. I mod some of the most active boards there are. In my football boards there is a current thread with about 10,000 posts. Nobody would bother posting in it if that new post feature remains.

It is fine for now but you guys are going to regret having it.

I too, mod on some fairly active boards. This does not seem to be one, yet. This topic can be revisited in the future if it becomes necessary.
