A transgender flight attendant who starred in a United Airlines commercial has reportedly died at 25 from an apparent suicide.

Kayleigh Scott, who was named Kyle before transitioning, was found dead Monday in a Denver, Colorado, apartment after posting on Instagram earlier in the day the intent to commit suicide, according to a TMZ report.

Scott’s sister, Ashley, reportedly commented on the post in what appears to be a confirmation of Kayleigh’s death.

“As I take my final breaths and exit this living earth, I would like to apologize to everyone I let down. I am so sorry I could not be better,” Kayleigh Scott wrote in the Instagram post. “To those that I love, I am sorry I could not be stronger. To those that gave me their everything, I am sorry my effort was not reciprocated.”

Scott added: “Please understand that me leaving is not a reflection of you, but the result of my own inability to turn myself for the better. To Ashley, Cynthia, Regine & Sophia. I am so sorry. Please remember me for the good memories we have shared, and never for my downfall. I will see you all again on the other side.”

In 2020, Kayleigh Scott received national exposure by starring in a United Airlines commercial that focused on Scott’s transition from a man to a woman. “I am trans and I am proud,” Scott said.

The commercial was created for the Trans Day of Visibility, an annual event to celebrate transgender individuals.

Representatives for United told the New York Post: “We are incredibly saddened by the tragic loss of Kayleigh Scott and extend our deepest condolences to her family, friends and co-workers.”

TMZ reported that police in Denver are investigating and that the city’s medical examiner will determine an official cause of death.

IMHO, transgenderism is a mental illness and I suspect as more people "trans" there will be more suicides in the not too distance future.

The right will say that proves transgenders are mentally unstable to begin with. The left will say it's because of the discrimination transgenders face in out society. And so it goes. Me, I don't care either way.

The death of any man lessens me.
That being said. I believe we should spend less time and money trying to 'accept' these people and spend more time and money aimed at getting them the mental care the so desperately need.

But ......... we can't force them to take "the treatment" for a disorder they vehemently disavow affects them.

It's the cautionary tale that again proves that identifying oneself by your sexuality invites chaos into your life. The majority of the LGBTQ clowns are afflicted mentally as far as I can tell. Sugar-coat it as thick as you like, or ignore it at will, but there is in life but one "normal state of being", and it is there to propagate the species. Anything else is not "normal".

Untill a person truly accepts themselves for who they are, "normal" or otherwise, whatever anyone else does is pointless. Nobody can make anyone feel what they don't want to feel. Period. No matter what we do, they will always be looking for the proof that we are lieing and not feel accepted. The same goes for race, religion, ethnic background, height, weight, hair or eye color.....the list is endless.
Know, accept and love thyself. Then consider the rest of the world. Because when it comes right down to it, you are the only one that can make you feel anything. And what the rest of the world thinks of you really doesn't matter.
Problem is, too many people want the rest of the world to make them happy. Regardless of who you are, that is a recipe for emotional dissaster.

I think suicide is an unfortunate, complex decision made by a mind that is not right. I don't think it should it should be politicized or publicized. And some trans suicide is no more, or less, a tragedy than any other. So what the the right or the left say about it, I do not care.

Teen suicides, military vet suicides, leo suicides, are all a tragedy in equal parts, yes. Yet inside of each group are patterns; in the case of trans suicides there are obvious patterns. Discovering the whats and whys can help folks understand, cope and possibly reduce them.

True, but the politicos and the media are not trying to solve the problem. They are using it to get attention.

Politicians and the media no longer do public service; it is all self service for their interests and their backers.
The American public is still at the point (barely) where we need to be convinced of something in order for that something to proceed; there will be another point in which that is no longer needed.
