Two of them saturday night, the third an hour ago. They were shot while responding to a domestic disturbance. Two were killed right off, the third was air lifted to Lubbock Texas, about two hundred miles north of Odessa Texas. He died an hour ago. The creep that shot them pussed out and surrendered to police after they shot him in his big fat gut. He will be fine, living a long time in the slam while we feed and house him. He should have let the swat team kill his worthless a$$. This just does not happen here, but I guess it does. The last officer we had killed in the line of duty was back in 1958 and I happen to own the gun that killed the creep that killed officer West way back then. I would let it come out of retirement to kill another creep.

It really burns me to see police officers shot in the line of duty. They're not the bad guys, and all they're doing is their job. But, I guess, when the bullets start flying, someone has to run towards them while everyone else runs away.

I'm very sorry to hear about that. You're right, the swat guys should have aced him. I'm always warrning my brother in memphis to be careful while on patrol, it's a bad city.

My prayers are with the families...

Yes, Thanks Hoss. Prayers go out to the families and to OPD. Our neighbors in Albuquerque lost two officers to a psycho who had already killed three civilians, two yrs ago. That POS will be eating food we paid for for the next God-knows how many yrs. "Too many psychoses to assist in his own defense", sez the State Mental Hospital.

Two weeks ago, the smaller city of Rio Rancho, just NW of Albuquerque, lost a motorcycle officer who was escorting Pres. Bush's motorcade to the Alb Airport when his motor hit a tree.

I was so fortunate when I toted tin back 100 yrs ago, that I never had to help put a brother (or sister) officer in the ground and that I was never hurt badly.

God bless all of our Police Officers.

They reported on the news last night that the third officer had died but now their saying he is still clinging to life in a hospital in Lubbock Texas. I pray this is true.

Yeah, I heard about that and was sorry to hear it. I too, carried a badge a hundred years or so ago (seems like) and like you I am glad I never had to witness anything like this.

Unfortunatly they say he has terminal cancer, so he won't live long enough to get his comeupance and to make matters worse you and me will have to pay for his kemo treatments and other medical expences. This just ain't right. Throw him in the dungon and let him die.

Two things:

1. My heart goes out to the families of the slain officers.

2. Actually, I hate it when people get into suicide-by-cop or do horrible things and then kill themselves to avoid punishment. If you're going to be a waste of a human being, at least have the balls to be punished. Getting killed is the easy way out.

And, if what Hoss says is right and the guy has terminal cancer, then yeah, We The People are going to get stuck with his chemo treatments. We'll also be paying for his attorney and his housing.

The good news is that chemo is NOT fun. He'll be miserable, throwing up every day, being nauseous all the time, losing his hair, etc. I'd suggest tossing his butt in the general prison population, but killing a cop elevates you to hero status, and we don't want that.

Was that Col. Cooper who said, "Shot placement is king."? In a dynamic tactical situation it's not always possible. Of course, whether or not someone had the opportunity to place a 2nd shot, I don't know.
