I was thinking his was going to be a universal which even sell for more than $500 in most places. Yes that inland is worth much more than $500 even if it's a mismatched gun built from a bin of parts.
We have seen that sight before and it looks like an early model but the experts can tell you more. Anyway, it is easily replaced with a later version. All parts are available. Those carbines are going for $1200 in that condition.
