The bearded boy Kauffman said toward the beginning "he THREW his HANDS up in the air".

John Bailey below remarks:

Threw my hands up in the air? What? I'll draw my HANDGUN like there's no tomorrow!

I would never go out in the woods unarmed myself. I'd also have big dog or two.

This happened back in February. The cat he killed was young (about 35 to 40 pounds). Here's an article about it.

40 pounds: just a kitten.

Here's a big tom kitty stalking a fellow on Vancouver Island. Did cougars swim there? How far is it to swim there from the mainland?

That cat was sizing him up thinking can I win this? and this guy letting him get closer and closer, I would've gotten the hell out first... backwards with a big knife in my hand

How far is it to swim there from the mainland?

Anywhere from a few hundred yards to a few miles depending on where you are

Text under the video said he was north of Campbell river, just above the red flag on the map

Moreover, it probably has tried to estimate ballistics of that "thing" in man's hands...
