This cal has been around for a long, long time. Loaded properly with its heavier bullet it is a good choice for black bear and Elk. Do you have one or have you tried this round?

Looking at some of the alternative cartridges offer heavier bullet weights but not a lot more power than the 35 remington. Any thoughts?

I have read that this one is gaining in popularity again with the LeverEvolution ammo. A nice woods rifle with a 200 grain bullet. Perfect for Oregon ELK maybe! Hummmmmmmmmmmm......!

If you are looking for more power, look at the 375 Winchester. It will deck a 500 lb hog like you hit him with a Peterbuilt. The normal 220 gr bullet has gone thru a 16" I Beam and then thru a 4x4 piece of wood. It's a lot more gun than most folks think. I'd rather carry a 375 over a 45-70 anyday. While I love my old 336 SC Marlins, the ones chambered in 35 Remington are not a match for the 375.
