Sounds like a good idea leeindy. Wish the best for you in the teaching life. Rough road ahead, but a really good feeling at the end of the day. You'll see. ;)

Leeindy,

Are you still in Achorage?

Even after all my travels, Achorage in one of my favorite cities in the world.

If it wasn't for that pesky white stuff, it would be #1!

Leeandy don't hold back, tell me how you really feel!

I had a blast in both 1984 and 1988. I spent about 12 weeks total in the city and hit all the tourist spots repeatedly, went clubbing, met a few girls, went dancing, and had a blast with one of the girls who was a local. She showed me more than just the city, so yah, I liked it there.

I was stationed first at Clear AFS (300+ up the Parks Highway) than in 1988 at Galena Air Station, (Other side of the Yukon, 250 or so air miles NE of Fairnbanks)

There just weren't many girls in the middle of no wear, but Achorage has a collage with lots of loney girls.....

To each his own.

I'm glad I missed the "fun".

I was really thinking of taking my family there in a few years.

I guess we're going to the Big Island of Hawaii!
:D

I talking about vacation not to live! Sorry I wasn't clear earlier.

I could never live HI. Gun laws there are a nightmare.

But I could go and soak up some sun and do a little free diving.

We haven't been (on a real two week vacation or HI) in 7 years and we want to go again when our daughter is older, say 7 or 8 years old or so. (5+ years from now) Until then, we will vacation within a days drive of Vegas.

Where are you going when you get out?

Thank you for your service, I think you should re-up for Anchorage...J/K
I got my degree on the "Cold War Era" GI Bill after my Army discharge.
I know several Air Force vets that stayed here in "Vegas" that where stationed at Nellis AB. (I'm a member of our local American Legion)
My wife works for Homeland Security(TSA) as a Training Officer, been with them from the very beginning. Lots of different agencies under Homeland Security:
ICE
Border Patrol
Fema
Secret Service
TSA
Fed. Law Enforcement Training Center
Just about about all Goverment Law Enforcement Agencies fall under HS.
You might make a good Federal Air Marshall.
