Every come across the ole 38-55, I believe Winchester was the mfg. Savage and Marlin made versions also. Had some good knock down power for short range woods shooting. Have not seen one for a long time.

I believe they have achieved quite a following by collectors today.

I do believe that they are using this cal for cowboy action shooting also. It is an authentic old west round and they are starting to show up more often nowdays. I believe Marlin and Winchester has had recent runs of this cal so more are becomming available.

I love marlins levers. My dad had a model 94 cowboy series that I loved to shoot
