Last week the tax stamp for my first suppressor came in, I purchased a rimfire model (PSD Minilith) that can handle up to 5.7x28 but headed out for the first shoot with a Browning T-Bolt 22 and shot standard velocity ammo. The prairie dogs never knew what hit them, the gun is quieter than an air rifle and CCI Standard Velocity is subsonic so there is no crack from the bullet. Because it was so quiet the pd's never really went to ground.
It took about 8 months from start to finish to get the suppressor, I purchased through Silencer Shop and used their local kiosk for fingerprinting and paperwork submission to the ATF. Next to a scope a suppressor has to be the most useful accessory you can add to a firearm. It was money well spent and well worth the wait.
