no one has mentioned Colt where does that stand in quality? a sniper scope was mention so if you sighted in at 500 yards with the 5.56 ammo what difference would there be running .233 round?
colt = regular quality now days many out there better now, used to be colt was better

sniper scope is the brand you get acog glass etched reticule with bdc so you sight at 100 yds and your good up to 800 yards without sighting again

I picked up a S&W M&P 223/5.56 last year.Has been very reliable and fairly accurate. Save extra $$ savings for ammo once its available again
It does everything I would need it for. Target and H.D.
Its the lower end sport model, but performs very well, came with the magpul flip sights.I added a Bushnell 2.5 x 32 deer scope ,a laser, a light to the scope, and a sling.
Dont think I need anything else.To old to run, or play soldier
Could use the gorilla duct tape if I needed to add a bayonette.I have a razor sharp big chefs knife that would work in a pinch.

Watch your twist rate. Assuming you'll get a 5.56 upper, my guess is

you wouldn't want rifling more aggressive than 1/9, unless you are

a big guy, like the length and extra weight of the 22" HBAR bull-barrel.

In which case, you may want the 1/7, to stabilize the 75 to 80 grain

rounds.

Colt isn't the Ferrari of ARs, but IMHO I'd wager most would agree it's

the Cadillac...
