You can look up the date via S/N. I did that with my older Smiths and other guns. Nice S&W.

Hi,the wax [email protected] factory paper that comes in the box the side that has all the pictures of the gun in blue go around the gun.correct?

It did...used to love to be the first to unwrap one! Every S&W had an aluminum-handled flat tip screwdriver in the box, too...that just happened to fit the grip screw...those were good days!!!

You got that right Dave !! The good old days...I have a screw driver but need the cleaning rod...did that come with it to Dave? I have a very close to mint 14-8 ...22 magnum with box and wanted to get all the correct items that came with it...thanks Dave....!

Some did...I'd forgotten those...aluminum with a loop top...haven't seen one of those in 40 years. Been lookin' at yer model 48...first one I've seen. Are those chambers counterbored so the case sits flush w/cylinder back? My eyes are kinda gettin' out of warranty.
You've got some nice revolvers...I'd keep my dog just a little bit hungry. Thanks for sharing the pics.

Yeah,this cylinder is made just for the 22 magnum and some but very few came with a extra cylinder that was for 22lr ........

.I seen a post that said the 22lr did not shoot as accurate as the 22 magnum mine never came with the extra cylinder....thanks for the kind words Dave !
