I have the chance to get either an original version of the M&P Shield or the newer 2.0. Big dollar difference, are the differences a matter of practical concern and worth the extra? It has to be an online purchase so I can't physically compare for myself. Anyone with experience with both? Thanks

The way I figure it, if the 1.0 wasn't a great gun, there would be no 2.0. I just bought a 1.0 for a great price and I am happy with it. The big differences in the 2.0 I've read about are a better trigger and more traction on the grips. I think the trigger is great, but then I am traditionally a double action guy, so it works well for me. If I want more grip, there are stick on grip panels out there.

I'd say if you got money to burn, get the 2.0. If you want a great deal, get the 1.0. Simple as that.

I was under the impression that the difference wasn't all that great, won't be an EDC so older trigger design shouldn't be a concern. Thanks for answers.
