I have a .45 Colt series 80 that a gunsmith fitted a .38 super upper end to the frame. I recently came across an aftermarket 9mm barrel which I got fitted to the .38 Super slide so I will have 3 centerfire calibers on the same frame. I gave it a whirl yesterday. Shooting CCI blazer 9mm the slide function was pretty lethargic with the .38 super recoil spring. Does the govt model use a different recoil spring from the .38 super or was the weak functioning due to the CCI ammo?

just a lighter spring. id go with a 16lb for the nine if its a 5in and 18 if its a 4in.

38 super has alot more pressure behind it.
