Howdy folks! Need help.
Few days ago I decided to add something new to my collection and that’s why I’m here now. I’ve read a lot of reviews and stopped my choice on a semi-automatic Saiga 410K-04. But my old buddy (who’s a Marine btw, Oorah!) said that this gun is just a piece of crap and I better find something else. To back up his opinion, he sent me this video.
As I understand, main cons of Saiga are as follows: it’s generally weak, when compared to the other shotguns (semi-auto or not), it has high recoil and occasional problems with a breechblock. Those are some serious turn offs in my opinion.
But despite my trust in friend’s knowledge, I’m still unconvinced. So I wanna know, what do you guys think about Saiga? Maybe I’m wrong and I should buy it anyways? Maybe there are some advantages I have overlooked?
Also, here are some main requirements for my next gun:
1 — Box magazine with good capacity.
2 — Safe and accurate.
3 - Cheaper than 850$
4 — Weight is not an issue.
Any offers? Thanks in advance.

I don't have one, I was warned off by my brother in law who has seen them. He passed on this information: Out of the box they like the higher power magnum loads to cycle right. you can modify it to handle normal target loads. but he also said - it's a fun gun to play with but get a pump if you are doing self defense stuff. He's had absolutely no problem with the Mossberg 930 (semiauto tactical version, ~$500 5 years ago) and it shoots anything he puts into it.

i borrowed a biddy's Saiga 12.

it was reliable, it was fun, and it really reduced recoil.........and despite all that i still don't trust it. Years of pump guns have the advantage of trust in service and reputation for me.

it sure ain't gonna fit a standard gun rack and came across as a bit clumsy with that big mag sticking out the bottom......could just imagine it hanging up in the vehicle on something while trying to get it out the window or out of the vehicle with it..

I had a Saiga 12, till CT went full retard. I will say some Saigas 12 (yes I know you're talking about the 410, just giving you some insight) seemed to be built in a hurry where these "Vodka Specials" had their gas ports semi blocked or fully blocked or not enough were drilled. It functioning poorly could very well be the shooter or how the shotgun was kept. Not to mention what upgrades if any he did to it, and ammunition. The video does not give a very good interpretation of how the shotgun functions. The Saiga 12 is a shotgun that only will cycle full brass shotgun shells, not bird shot or small game shells. You can make them shoot these shells just it will take a few parts and tuning the gas adjuster. Mine shot very well with high brass and after some work with bird shot / small game. Too bad I had to get rid of it due to CT illegal and un Constitutional laws, which we are still fighting.
Magazine size could be one issue seeing how big they can get. A 20 round drum I needed to have a front forward vertical grip, even then I had to use a adj offset grip to use the large 20 round drum. Right now I'm slowly building a Black Aces pump action (a Mossberg 500/590 pump action receiver) which will take a box magazine just like the Saiga 12's just to piss off the CT "mothers", sheep, and politicians. Just as long as I stay with the 10 and under magazine limit It will be good to go.
A good place for better information about Saiga shotguns is over at Saiga 12 forum forum.Saiga-12.com . They will have all the ins and outs, good and bad on the Saiga 410. Very good sight on Saigas in general. Good luck in your search.
