Remington has 2 different models of the Marine 870 pump that I want to use for home defense. Does anyone know if the XCS with its corrosion finish will prevent corrosion BETTER than the nickle plated marine? I know both guns are designed to function in all climates, I love the looks of the nickle, but like the extra shells in the stock of the XCS. Thoughts anyone?

The XCS Tri-Nite Corrosion System treats many more internal parts like the trigger group that the conventional Nickel Marine Magnum does not. It is the most superior corrosion control system on the market today. The coating itself is very thin, hard, and durable. It's closest competitor would most likely be the Tenifer coating on the Glock line of pistols. Bill T.
