Hi all -

Any owners of the Sig .22LR conversion kit for the p229? I wanted to know from owners if its worth purchasing. I heard that it will work only on mini-mags ammo and also the upper won't slide back when the magazine is empty. Are these true?

They seem to work best whit high velocity ammunition. The slide does not lock back on an empty magazine. Neither of these is a big deal when the cost of centerfire ammunition is factored in. This assumes that you do a lot of shooting.

Will dry-firing the rimfire pin hurt the gun? I can see this happening when all the rounds have been fired.

It can.

Solution: Stop rapid firing and count your shots.
