Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., along with Rep. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., said in an op-ed Thursday that the coronavirus lockdown recommendations of Dr. Anthony Fauci have “emasculated” the health care system and “ruined” the economy.

“Fauci and company have relied on models that were later found to be deficient. He even has suggested that he can’t rely on any of the models, especially if the underlying assumptions are wrong,” the pair wrote in an op-ed for USA Today. “Yet, Fauci persists in advocating policies that have emasculated the medical care system and ruined the economy.”

They pointed to Fauci's testimony last week before a Senate committee that opening too soon would “result in needless suffering and death.” “What about the countless stories of needless suffering and death produced by Fauci’s one-size-fits-all approach to public health?” Paul and Biggs shot back.

They called for policies based on trusting the risk assessment of the American people rather than a federal government mandate.

“Freedom allows us to judge the risk and reward and determine a course we think best,” the lawmakers wrote. “If we feel going to a certain retailer, barbershop, restaurant, or some other business is risky, we have the judgment to decide to not go there. If we want to stay home, we can.”

Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and an early prominent face in the White House Coronavirus Task Force, testified before the Senate on May 12 that reopening the economy before certain "checkpoints" set up in the Trump administration's coronavirus recovery plan are met could bring "suffering and death" and “turn the clock backwards.” He called out the effects of reopening schools too early, in particular.

"Depending on the dynamics of an outbreak in a particular region, state, city or area, that would really determine the speed and the pace with which one does reenter or reopen," Fauci said. "If some areas – cities states or what have you – jump over those barriers, checkpoints and prematurely open up without having the capability of being able to respond effectively, and efficiently, my concern is that we will start to see little spikes that might turn into outbreaks."

Fauci resisted pressure to rip on the Trump administration's response to the pandemic in his planned remarks, instead emphasizing efforts by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to develop vaccines and other medical means to fight the coronavirus.

Paul got into a dustup with Fauci during the testimony over his call for caution with reopening schools.

"The history of this will be wrong prediction after wrong prediction after wrong prediction," Paul said, mentioning, among several other examples, Sweden, which left its schools open. "I don't think you're an end-all, I don't think you're the one person that gets to make a decision."

"I have never made myself out to be the end-all and only voice in this," Fauci responded. "I'm a scientist, a physician and a public health official. I give advice, according to the best scientific evidence."

He emphasized that he only gives advice about public health, not "economic things."

Fauci, during that hearing, continued emphasizing that it is not clear children are generally immune from the harmful effects of the coronavirus: "We should be humble about what we don't know. And I think that falls under the fact that we don't know everything about this virus, and we really got to be very careful, particularly when it comes to children. Because the more and more we learn, we're seeing things about what this virus can do that we didn't see from the studies in China or in Europe."

Rand Paul says Fauci's policies ‘emasculated’ medical care system, ‘ruined’ economy

1.) Dr. Fauci says he warned Trump in January that the US was in real trouble but that is not what he said publicly.
In January Dr. Anthony Fauci told Newsmax TV that the United States “did not have to worry”about the coronavirus and that it was“not a major threat.”
2.)
Dr. Fauci warned of an apocalyptic coronavirus pandemic — then just weeks later he compared the coronavirus to a bad flu.
3.) Dr. Fauci based all of his predictions on models the that were OFF BY MILLIONS and then later told reporters,“You can’t really rely on models.”
4.) On March 20th Dr. Fauci jumped in and during a press briefing on hydroxychloroquine treatment for coronavirus “corrected” the president saying, “You got to be careful when you say ‘fairly effective.’ It was never done in a clinical trial… It was given to individuals and felt that maybe it worked.”
Exactly two weeks later hydroxychloroquine was deemed the most highly rated treatmentfor the novel coronavirus in an international poll of more than 6,000 doctors.
5.) Dr. Fauci pushed these garbage models every step of the way.
A month ago Dr. Fauci claimed 1 million to 2 million Americans would die from coronavirus. Then he said 100,000 to 200,000 Americans will die from the virus. Three weeks ago he agreed 81,766 Americans would die from the coronavirus. Then by that Wednesday Then by that Wednesday the experts cut the number of deaths to 60,415 projected deaths. to 60,415 projected deaths.
6.) On Easter Dr. Fauci suggested President Trump. should have shut down the economy in February… When the number of known cases in the US was around 100. Fauci later walked back his attacks.
7.)
Dr. Fauci said cruises were OK on March 9th. That was a huge error.
8.) Dr. Fauci said malls, movies and gyms were OK on February 29th. That was another huge mistake.
9.) Dr. Fauci was wrong about the first coronavirus deaths in the country. Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx and the CDC were off by nearly a month. California officials revealed in Aprilthat a patient in Santa Clara died from coronavirus on February 6th not February 29th.
10.) Dr. Fauci and the CDC missed themillions and millions of US citizenswho had already contracted the coronavirus before the draconian lockdowns took place. Knowing this could have prevented the economic calamity.
11.) OnApril 15, 2020, Fauci endorses Tinder hookups, unbelievably.
12.) Dr. Fauci relied on corrupt W.H.O rulesto lock down the United States and destroy the US economy. Meanwhile, this delays the herd immunity that is needed to prevent a future outbreak of this deadly virus.
13.) Dr. Fauci and Dr. Birx used the Imperial College Model to persuade President Trump to lock down the entire US economy. The Imperial model has since been confirmed as A COMPLETE FRAUD.
14.) Dr. Fauci warned that Georgia would see a surge in coronavirus cases and deaths by opening their economy too early.
He was wrong again– In fact the opposite happened.
15.) And on Tuesday during testimony Dr. Fauci told Dr. Rand Paul that opening the schools would not be a good idea.

Dr. Fauci should remind us all that listening only to scientists/doctors is a really bad idea; they tend to be unable to view life holistically and tend to trust unproven information because they over value the source of their information. Failure to look at the whole picture before making decisions results in failure to properly respond and can be destructive in any situation...we are experiencing that now!

Let's go not too far back and re-visit a term that probably applies here. "The Peter Principle". Ever heard of it?

It's a practice employed, usually involuntarily, and recognizable in most all institutions, corporations, companies, organizations and most certainly all levels of our state and national governments.

  1. The Peter principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Peter, which observes that people in a hierarchy tend to rise to their "level of incompetence": an employee is promoted based on their success in previous jobs until they reach a level at which they are no longer competent, as skills in one job do not necessarily translate to another. The concept was elucidated in the book The Peter Principle (William Morrow and Company, 1969) by Dr Peter and Raymond Hull.
We the people, authority figures and the media - MSM in this case - usually do the "promoting" and "accepting" of these experts. It's just an on-going social phenomenon for which there is probably no cure.

Dr. Fauci is very intelligent and experienced. But the government and media fed him to us with a spoon and we gobbled his expertise "right up". And until his limitations were discovered, why not?

There comes a time when an individual begins to realize their own limitations; I believe Fauci knows his limitations. I also believe Fauci knowingly expressed his recommendations, not based on scientific data, but on a political agenda. Unfortunately, the media drove his agenda to reality; some areas worse than others. Damned if you followed and damned if you did not. Once it all started, manipulation began (reporting false data).

The American citizen has been brainwashed. The left dishes out money creating more dependency, the socialist agenda is playing out - driven by fear and and a false sense that the government is working for them. Even as we complain about the freedoms being taken away, we follow, mumbling under our breath to each other.....as we do as we are told (i.e wear mask and stand 6 feet apart).

Hitler would be proud. China is getting excited. Maduro is giggling.

3% is preparing......
