I’ve had the DPMS Oracle Panther LR308 and the AR-15. For the money, you cannot beat DPMS rifles. The AR-15 was my first AR and I still have it. Thousands through it and it still shoots under 1 moa using cheap steel case Wolf ammo.

Is there anything better for the same or similar price? lets say 600 dollars.

The short answer is, No. DPMS makes a rock solid AR. For example they designed the LR-308, which accounts for 80% of the "AR-10" pattern rifles. The actual ArmaLite AR-10 accounts for only a small percentage of them. DPMS started out making military weapons for US military contracts and evolved into offering civilian arms.
