Hello I am wanting to install a muzzle break on a Ruger Percission for .308 but I am unsure on how to do it properly. I have seen tutorials on the Internet where people do all sorts of different things to install it and each person saying things that is completely opposite of another. One person said to use pipe dope when installing a muzzle break. I am just asking if anyone could point me in the right direction because I am can't seem to find any credible sources.

Here is a link to the muzzle break in intend to buy for the ruger percission https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00U857492/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_xFz5vb59NZ21N

You're going to need to index that muzzle brake so that it is mounted with the vent holes straight up. So, get yourself some barrel shims because you'll probably need a couple behind the crush washer.
