I have lived through a few Presidents, and I wonder how many each of you lived through, and what memories you carry about each ??

G. W. Bush - 9/11, Afghanistan, Iraq, struck the fear of God into domestic terrorists

Clinton - Draft dodger, liar, adulterer, AWB

George H. W. Bush - WWII Hero, protector of Kuwait in Desert Storm/Desert Shield

Ronald Reagan - Returned the self respect of America, ended the double digit inflation/interest rates, freed our hostages in Iran after 444 days. Destroyed the Soviet Union

Jimmy Carter - Gas crises, futile rescue mission in Iran at Desert One where a bunch of Delta and Ranger Operatives were slaughtered. Brought historically highest inflation and interest

Jerry Ford - Pardoned Nixon, clumsy

Richard M. Nixon - Only President in our history to resign his Office. First gas crises. Wage and Price controls, abandoned Viet Nam

L B Johnson - Escalated war in Viet Nam and brought troop levels there to over a half million. First manned moon landing

J F Kennedy - Slept with Marilyn Monroe, abandoned the Cuban Bay of Pigs Freedom Fighters, came close to starting nuclear war with the Soviet Union(Russia) in the October Crises. Committed Nation to a manned landing on the Moon by end of decade. Assassinated - the crime was never solved

Dwight Eisenhower - ended the Korean War, brought peace and prosperity to the Nation

Harry Truman - Started Nuclear War, started Korean War, ended WWII, fired Douglas McArthur

FDR - died a month before I was born

So, strain your brains a little, and see what you remember.

Regan to present.

I was quoted as a 1st grader in the Eau Claire paper during the Bush/Clinton election saying that Clinton didn't deserve to be president. In the mind of a 6 year old, I figured that the guy who had been doing the job for the last 4 years had to have been doing something right to get elected in the first place, so why not let him keep doing his job.

Oh, don't forget that the entire Black Hawk Down incident in Somolia happened on Clinton's watch, as did Bosnia.

Nixon got us out of Vietnam, opened the door to China, and embarrassed the nation with a silly cover up, forcing him to resign.

Ford was a decent man, in a no-win situation, and quietly served out the rest of Nixon's term.

Carter was a wuss, gave us the worst economy in modern times (I don't count the Great Depression as modern times), did nothing in the face of terrorism and had a stupid brother.

Reagan brought respect to the nation, beat the Soviets and brought freedom to the world.

GHW Bush blew the highest approval rating of any president and lost the election.

Clinton was a liar, a cheat, a louse and when you shook his hand, you had to check to make sure you still had your wristwatch.

GW Bush handled one of the darkest days in American history with class, showed tremendous leadership, and blew it.

G. W. Bush - History is still out on Iraq policy - I loath his illegal Mexician policy.

Clinton - Total worthless abortion of a pres.

George H. W. Bush - Was OK Pres.

Ronald Reagan - Good Gov. and ruined the Russians - Good Job Ronnie!

Jimmy Carter - Absolutely worthless - still is.

Jerry Ford - Fell down a lot - made a bad target for Squeeky Frome

Richard M. Nixon - Liar

L B Johnson - Blood butcher

J F Kennedy - My uncle was a personal friend. I met him three times - had dinner with
him (my father and uncle took me along) in New York City - Waldorf-Astoria with
Nelson Rockefeller . JFK was charismatic. Dad knew him pretty well, through NASA.

Dwight Eisenhower - saw him once get out of a helo at San Diego Country Club - around 1956 - first president I ever saw. I admired him/still do.

Harry Truman - Didn't know him - when he left office I was 7. Later admired him - "The Buck Stops Here!" - a pretty tough Pres.

I agree with your assessment about 100%

I had a lot of respect for JFK, the man had courage as did Robert. As you will probably agree the policies of the Democrats in the 1960's is even more conservative than the Republicans today. Nowadays the Democratic Party has swung off the charts into the socialist zone, far extreme left!!
They would have been tossed in jail as Communists during the McCarthy era!!

Eisenhower, war hero, nice man, sputnik

Kennedy, war hero, handsome, pretty wife of course killed
Johnson, buffoonish, riots, uneasy feelings
Nixon, I joined the USAF during his term, riots, but not as many, I think he was railroaded, I don't see anything to make him worse than anyone else..

Gerald Ford, nice man, just a caretaker,

Carter, scared me from the git-go, inflation, no respect, oil crisis, loss of Iran, hostages,,,,

Ronald Reagan (Ronaldus Magnus) respect, lower inflation and interest rates, more respect, whacked Libya, the fall of the Soviet Empire.. so much more...what a great man..

George Bush, war hero, wonderful wife, things were running well, the media hated him...

Bill Clinton, had the capapcity to be a great presdent, but ruined it, as he did his terms in Arkansas, no parts for our C-141's, first introduction to Hillary on a mass level, scary.

George Bush, I think a good man, not very articualte, but honest, could have picked some better cabinet people in my opinion, the media hates him..

Not trying to start any kind of fight, but Kennedy was far from a war hero.

He is the only Captain in American Naval History to have his command cut in half by a ship 20 times its' size, 30 times its' weight and half as fast - thus getting 50 percent of his crew killed.

He became a hero due to the public relations money spent by his father, who also bought his(Joe, Sr.'s) way into the ambassadorship to the Court of Saint James, using the money he made as a Federal criminal, smuggling whiskey in during Prohibition. There is no doubt that many men lost their lives at the hands of Joseph P. Kennedy, Senior.

Hero ??...not hardly.
