Powder is faster than bullet... Huh?

There'a also other cool stuff but the powder specs is what made me go WHAT!!!

I probably should mention that average gas velocities from the burning powder (4,400 to 4,500 fps average) have to be faster than the bullet as demonstrated by some actual bullet velocities over 4,000 fps.

Interesting...but is the powder faster, pushing past the projectile, or is it simply residual being pushed ahead of the next round. Seems to me it would more likely be pushing residue ahead...

I would have to agree. I can't see powder blowing past the bullet unless you have a real loose fit. Maybe it's possible but i think it's powder from the previous shot. I guess the only way to find out is do to this with a clean barrel and check the first shot.
