Parler Under Attack

For anyone using the Parler app, the last couple days, the platform has been under siege.

Facebook, Twitter and YouTube have gotten away with the censorship of conservative speech over the course of the last few years and has gone to unprecedented lengths in the last 12 months to shutdown virtually all voices saying anything they don’t like.

Parler is a platform that was created as the alternative to Facebook and Twitter and has allowed the exercise of free speech for conservatives.

A few days ago, Google joined in the fight to silence conservatives by pulling the Parler app from the Google store. They did so to force Parler to implement a plan to “moderate” content on the platform. Apple made the announcement that they would likely follow suit. As of right now, the Parler app is no longer available in the Apple App Store.

Amazon announced that at midnight tonight, they will shut down the servers that host the Parler platform. This move will effectively silence the platform until they can find new servers to host them.

Pray that they fail to silence Parler!

I'd never heard of it either. On one of my other gun sites they want folks to sign up to We/Me another social site. I looked at it but for the life of me I can't understand what the attraction is to those types of sites. But then I don't understand why anybody needs to be on the phone 24 hrs a day either.

https://pressboltnews.com/parler-ceo-says-even-his-lawyers-are-abandoning-him/

The CEO of the conservative-friendly social app Parler said that all of its vendors have abandoned the company following recent bans from Google, Apple, and Amazon.

“Every vendor, from text message services to email providers to our lawyers, all ditched us too, on the same day,” Parler CEO John Matze said in an interview with Fox News on Sunday.

In a post on Saturday night, Matze said that the service “will be unavailable on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch” and that “we have many competing for our business.”

But in Sunday’s interview, Matze said that it was having difficulties finding a new vendor to work with. “We’re going to try our best to get back online as quickly as possible, but we’re having a lot of trouble because every vendor we talk to says they won’t work with us. Because if Apple doesn’t approve and Google doesn’t approve, then they won’t.”

Parler had 1.5 million downloads on Saturday alone. They are not a podunk startup.
I am on a local state gun forum and they are also having issues behind the scenes with some of their providers.
I just discovered a blog/website that I follow, run by LEO for a major midwestern city, shut down by Google.
These are current and former police officers who dedicate a site to letting the public know what is really going on in local government, with crime, incident reports, real statistics, etc. It has been up and going for at least a decade and it can be a little non PC at times.

If the top three businesses working together to shut down another similar company isn't collusion, in any field or market, I'm not sure what is. I think the definition was made pretty clear with Major League Baseball in 1985.

I get it. I never cozied up to twitter or the use of hash tags.
I immediately felt comfortable with Parler. All I had to do was search for news and personalities I trusted and bam, they were all there in front of me with the latest updates.
I will never go back to main stream news, including Fox, and I also dread being online all of the time or using a phone like a mirror, but in my office at my desk, Parler was enjoyable.

"why is there still so much child porn?"

Because the content providers CEOs enjoy that type of programing.................
