Why did the original Winchoke Choke tube system, with the knurled end that is proud to the end of the barrel, quit being used? I need 12 gauge modified and IC tubes like this and they aren’t as easy to find as I would think they would be. I check EBay daily to see if any are for sale but those two chokes are almost like hens’ teeth. I don’t want the new flush type because I want them to match the full choke tube I have now.

Do they have to be Winchester tubes? There are quite a few after market brands that extend out beyond the barrel. I agree, I'm not super fond of the ones that sit flush with the barrel....especially if one happens to stick.

I just want them to be correct for the period when the shotgun was made.
