My kids all went through a phase when they liked to play "It's Opposite Day." I'm sure many other parents have experienced the same thing. It seems nearly every day is Opposite Day these days, as news story after news story depicts the exact opposite of what makes sense, and the opposite of what any reasonable adult would expect. It seems unreal, like parody from the Babylon Bee or the Onion, but it's not that, or fake news; it's real.

It shouldn't be.

In Arizona, for example, Muslim students threatened to kill their professor for suggesting that Islam is violent. Odd tactic. Are they trying to prove it isn't? The professor, his children, and even his elderly parents evacuated their homes to seek safety. Meanwhile, the school wrote his official apology, which he insisted he will never offer, and "monitored" the hundreds of threats to his life across school social media while not removing a single one.

The biggest news this last week was the revelation that former president Obama knew about the FBI's activities against Gen. Michael Flynn. Attorney General Bill Barr ordered a review of the Flynn investigation, and the DOJ found gross and nefarious improprieties, ultimately dismissing the case with harsh criticism of the Obama FBI. Few aren't aware of Obama's attempt to write the definitive history of his presidency by claiming to have had a scandal-free presidency. Reality has since proven otherwise, and at the first indisputable connection of Obama himself to a breaking scandal, he leaked a private conversation where he said the "rule of law" was at risk in the Flynn case dismissal. All that, despite Barr's review proving Obama personally had suspended the rule of law for Lieutenant General Flynn.

The accusation of sexual assault by Tara Reade against Joe Biden grew even more credible, with more people coming forward to say she told them about it back in the late 1990s. A document referencing it also surfaced from her divorce. In stark contrast to the environment surrounding the allegations against Brett Kavanaugh upon his nomination to the Supreme Court by President Trump, the most vocal supporters of the "MeToo" movement, including the mainstream media, have remain mostly hushed. Those who must be believed, according to Democrats, now must be ignored. Senator Dianne Feinstein, the original groomer of Christine Blasey Ford, this week said the allegations are totally different against Joe Biden. Yes, they are. They're credible.

In more news, stunningly, Nancy Pelosi discovered that Joe Biden continues to be Joe Biden. The way Jesse Watters compiled some history of Biden comments, and Rudy Giuliani and One America News Network built a criminal case against him with evidence from Ukrainian witnesses, it appears being Joe Biden is becoming less and less a good thing.

On the good side of surprising opposites, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany noticeably changed the tone of her press briefings, stepping up her game to rival the president in calling out the mainstream media with the inaccuracies of their own headlines. She threw back some reverse gotcha answers to the White House press corps in response to some of their attempted gotcha questions. It was clearly the opposite of anything they would have expected, and she topped it off by ending her briefing immediately afterward. Unlike those above, it was beautifully gratifying to watch.
