At least 25 people were shot, seven fatally, during the first half of Labor Day Weekend in Democrat-controlled Chicago.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the fatalities began around 12:22 a.m. Saturday, when 42-year-old Willie Coker was shot to death while standing outside. The shooting occurred on South Burley Avenue.

Roughly three hours later 18-year-old Angel Perez was shot and killed on West Le Moyne Street.

A 26-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were shot to death about an hour later in the 7100 block of South Paulina Street. The Chicago Tribune reports that three other adults were wounded in the South Paulina shooting.

A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed Sunday morning around 2:19 a.m. and a man was shot and killed at a party in Woodlawn about 20 minutes later. Another man was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting around 3:54 a.m. “in the 5100 block of South Pulaski Road.”

Breitbart News reported at least 29 were shot, six fatally, over the weekend of August 23-25, 2019, in Democrat-controlled Chicago.

Wow. Guns are really out of control there. Maybe someone should do something about it.

I'm carrying a whole bag of, "Thoughts and prayers."

Hope that helps.
That doesn’t fit the narrative and puts liberal gun control and liberals in general in a bad light. They’ll save that fight for later. Don’t even bring it up because that’s not the playbook they’re running.

Its part of the 'new' eugenics movement in this country. Ya see? Its blacks killing blacks. That's considered a good thing by many of our 'elites'.

Don't believe me? Planned Parenthood received millions of dollars in federal funds. More than 90% of the abortions they perform are performed on black women.

AWR HAWKINS doesn't help the 2A struggle. It's sensational and a lot of bang (see what I did there) for the buck, but it just adds fuel to the anti-gunner fire.

"Hey! You think El Paso and Odessa/Midland is bad? You ain't seen nothing yet ..."

Thanks a lot.

I hope you were being sarcastic. If not, guns are not the problem. The problem is gang-bangers, drug dealers, robbers, thieves, and every other undesirable living in Chicago, that the powers that be there refuse to do anything about.

All because they get the votes and money to let them get away with the crimes.

They could go after the guns, right? Then maybe the gangs will yell at each other with great vigour.

I was not being sour caustic. I was pointing out that trying to minimize gun deaths one place by pointing out that there are more elsewhere is not helping us at all.

Pro-gun control enthusiasts appreciate the additional evidence that "we have a gun problem."
How about the fact that elected politicians of all stripes are "elected politicians", not "problem solvers". THEY DON'T HAVE ANY ANSWERS. They are so stoopid, they can't bring themselves to admit their incompetence and find people who can solve the problems. How about re-trying what actually has worked in the past? Nawwww.....

Why do you think all these cities (San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, Stanton, Portland, Chicago and New York City) are screwed and dying in many sectors?

Politician's trajectory is evolutionary: Their sole purpose in life is to survive the next election. Trump has been campaigning since Nov 09, 2016.

To that end, any of them would rather do nothing than risk suicide by decision. When constituents threaten to halt a politician's career, things change in a hurry. If not, the upcoming replacement wins the hill.

So, to the contrary, politicians are far from "stoopid."
Doubling down on a failed policy.

Nope. They're not stoopid. They're insane.

Putting on my contrarian hat, which I wear so well, I would characterize the voters as "insane." Politicians aren't self-elected.

Still, your point is well-taken.

"We" do not have a gun problem, they have a crime problem.

I think the following description should be added to the dictionary:

Politician = Professional lier
"We" do not have a gun problem, they have a crime problem.
It's a crime to shoot people, so it's both.

The gun problem is certainly not the doing of the state of Illinois.

Illinois is competing with the likes of California and New Jersey for the strictest gun control laws.

One of the reasons that it isn't working is the more lax (Republican) states that border those.

According to the 2017 Gun Trace Report, which was put out by the city of Chicago and the Chicago Police Department, 60% of firearms come from out of state, with Indiana as the primary source for approximately one out of every five crime guns.

Because Illinois (and California and New Jersey) state law has been made ineffective by adjacent states, gun control advocates are working to get Congress to make laws that apply to ALL states.

It's not a clever move to use Chicago as an example of how gun laws don't work.

That opens the "adjacent states," can of worms and elevates the "gun problem" to the federal level.
See less See more
Then why don't the "lax" states have a "gun" problem??
It seems states with the strict gun control have the most crime, and you want the federal government to spread the crime to all the states with more gun laws.
i have several guns in my house, and not a one of them went out and shot anyone over laborday weekend
