I have this old long rifle in my collection for years and pulled it out the other day to do some research. Some notes on what I have been able to find about Evan Johnson follow:

Three men stand out asbeing the top gunmakers of the Jamestown School - David Grose, Craft Jackson(shop was where Jamestown Park is now) and Isaac Jones. Grose was also part ofthe Early Deep River School. While these men were the best of the best, they didn'tproduce the most guns. That honor went to Anderson Lamb (whose shop was aboutwhere the three fountains are in the lake in Adams Farm), Solomon H. Ward(present-day Cedarwood) and Evan Johnson (Wendover Avenue and Tarrant Roadarea).
Does anyone know if this is a rare gun?
