Normal for an RMR dot to contain a bunch of "smaller dots"?

Just bought my first red dot. I thought the RMR dot would look like a "solid" dot, but it actually seems like a 3.25 dot that has a bunch of smaller dots inside it. Is that what an RMR dot is supposed to look like? I'm using the supplied energizer 2032 battery.
