My son, Air Force, deployed with Army Intel from Ft Bragg in February, along with four of his FLETC classmates. Two were killed by a roadside bomb, another had his leg blown off. Frank arrives back in NC tomorrow. It was his third time in the sandbox and we hope it will be the last. Asked if he would go back, he says: I follow orders like a good troop. He's got almost 14 years and is aiming for twenty. He's TSgt and hopes to put on MSgt next year.
The problem he's already having is the "Survivor Syndrome." He's almost home but the only one standing. He lost two buddies and the third will never be the same. He'll never be the same either. His first mission will be to visit the widows. War is HELL.
Only the families know what it's like to lose your loved one. I can only pray for them.

Glad he's coming home safe and sound, Whompuss. He and his friends - as well as all their families - will be in my thoughts and prayers!
