Ok here's the deal. I need help figuring out how much it would cost to give this revolver,

the bronze handle/grip of of a colt navy revolver?

Awesome! Thank you so much. I know I called my nearest gunsmith who said that in order to get a new barrel for my other gun I would have to pay so much money I might as well buy a new gun with the barrel size I was requesting. Is that normal or am I missing something?

Is that a Cimarron "Man with no name" SAA? If so it appears that the brass trigger guard and backstrap
are available. Or as suggested above just have your steel parts plated. Welcome to the forum.

I suspect that plating will narrow any working tolerances and possibly prevent the gun from operating or even make assembly impossible.

check into the powers that be and see if some of the Pieta/Uberti 1851 navy or 1860 army grip/trigger guard frames can be ordered and substituted.....with what i would imagine some smithing for fitting.

guessing that brass is going to be thicker in most regards.

If that model of gun is offered with a brass trigger guard and grip frame, then the parts are interchangeable. Whether the maker Pietta or Uberti offers those parts for sale is another matter. As to plating, none of the parts in question are such that plating would have any impact on functionality.

Well I've ordered the parts. Now to see if I have to get a gunsmith to install them or if I can install them myself.

Great! The new parts should be here either later on today or sometime tomorrow. I can't wait! However now I need to get a repair kit just in case. I'll look one up real quick.

Well I finally got my brass parts. Now all's I need to do is grind down the backstrap so my grip fits.
