They just give max length i believe. I'm sure you've noticed many of the loads in your books have different OAL lengths for different bullets and charges for the same caliber. For me that tool would be useless. I do have one hanging around but not sure if it's a lyman of not and used it maybe once or twice.

I think that one is for cases only. Thinking it would be a quick tool. To see if they need trimming.

Oh it might be, it's been so long since i used mine i might be confused. I just set my calipers to what i want the length to be and see if they pass through or not and use two bins when sorting them.
