Looks like Turkey just started the invasion of Syria today

Difficult and complex situation.
But i still do not want our sons and daughters dying over there anymore.
500 years from now these uncivilized tribes will still be fighting over the same hunk of sand or some slight from 2,000 years ago.
We can't fix it, so lets stay out.
The only reason we backed the Kurds is because they were also fighting ISIS. The enemy of my enemy is my friend syndrome.
No one in that region gives a rat's ass about the USA except maybe Israel.

We 'abandoned' the Hmong, Tho, Muong, T'ai, Nung and Yao; all Montagnard tribes. Abandoning the Kurds is merely carrying on a tradition, of sorts. Expect an influx of Kurdish refugees. It will help salve the consiouses of those giving the abandonment orders.

News reports say boots are on the ground and have crossed the border. The Kurds were calling for air support and we told them their was none. Don't have real strong opinions. I rely on the opinions of experts and it looks like the Generals and others more learned on the subject say we should stay. I can see not spending blood and treasure and in a way forcing more participation by those closer like out European and middle eastern friends.
The Kurds sound like a formidable force on the ground. They helped us in the past and after we left they paid the price like the gassing by Saddam. We should support the Kurds somehow I just don't know how.

Turkey has been our ally for 67 years. Are we to have made war on them on behalf of our Kurdish ally of convenience for a couple of years? If the Kurds attack Turkey, the Turks could invoke their mutual self defense clause and we'd be fighting the Kurds.
The Kurds were the enemy of our enemy: ISIS. We worked together for convenience,clearing territory they want for a national homeland. Why we should defend them from the Turks had not been exp!aimed in any way adequately. Why should one American be killed for the Kurds? Or the Turks? Erdogan is an Islamic fascist and a Trojan Horse inside NATO. Why should we referee fights between people that have been killing each other since before America was discovered?
No more American kids dead in Shittistans for no reason directly related to our national security.

Step one: Remove all US personnel and equipment from Incirlik airbase. No need for them to become pawns in a political pissing match.
Step two: Get rid of Erdogan. Sanctions, covert action, maybe take a page from Tom Clancy's "Executive Orders". He need to go.

The Syrian Kurds allied with us in their homeland because we shared a common interest in wiping out the head-lopping freak show that was ISIS. Moreover, all Kurds are not equal. \
The PKK – the Kurdistan Workers' Party – are a bunch of commie terrorists who have been fighting the Turks for a long time.
Those reds are no friends of ours, and it’s their antics that seem to be inspiring the Turkish campaign.
I have little use for the Turks, but they aren’t just picking this fight for Schiffs and giggles.
The fact that it’s all so confusing is a really, really good reason for us to stay the hell out of it.
