Hello Bat1159man: There has been a few cases of the lock failing and locking the gun up while shooting. I admit that it is a very, very low percentage but with my luck it would happen when I need my gun the most. I have had bought for me two new guns in the last year that have the Clinton hole but they are for range and woods only. Both of them were bought for me by my wife and are supposed to be collectors guns as they have display cases and such. One lasted less than 24hrs and the other was shot with in 48hrs. I can't have a safe queen. I still shoot them all the time. :---
