Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau pledged a ban on “military-grade” semiautomatic rifles in an attempt to redirect his campaign after his blackface controversy.

City News reports that Trudeau announced the rifle ban on Friday in Greektown, Toronto, the area of the city in which a gunman shot 15 people, killing two, last year.

Trudeau said, “We know you do not need a military-grade assault weapon – one designed to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time – to take down a deer.”

His ban includes a two-year amnesty for current owners of the rifles. He also wants a buyback so the government can pay owners when they hand their rifles over.

CBC quoted Trudeau saying, “People are dying. Families are grieving. Communities are suffering. So we’re going to do more and we’re going to do better. Thoughts and prayers are just not going to cut it. The choice could not be clearer: Liberals are for tougher gun laws, Conservatives are for weaker gun laws.”

A rifle ban would not have prevented the Greektown attack, as the attacker used a handgun.

Attention Canada: Your village idiot is running loose. That is all.

"military-grade” semiautomatic
If that isn't a contradiction of terms, I don't know what is, but than again he is a Canadian so that probably explains it.

Name one country's military who's main battle rifle, or substitute main battle rifle, is not a select fire weapon.

I did not know that the AR-15 was legal in Canada. They banned handguns in 1979, so I just figured that the AR was banned too.

let's look at his words, assault style...... Does it use the same ammo as the military uses?... No..... Is it select fire?.... No.... So you are making your judgment on what it looks like, not what it does mechanically, that isn't being informed, that's being willfully ignorant.

Let's crack down on legal gun owners that'll stop illegal guns! Does anyone still care what this fool has to say?

Have a good cigar and regards

Handguns aren't banned in Canada. We have a couple of members on here from the great white north and i know at least one of them has handguns. Also as far as AR's they can have even better than us because they can have SBR's with no special paperwork other than the normal paperwork(which is a lot) to have a regular AR.
Did he pledge his ban while wearing “black face “?

I wonder what is the source of his intelligence and logic?

"Everyone complains that trying to quit smoking is so difficult. Well, I've found a way that seems to be working for me. It;s so simple and I'll pass it along. I limit myself to one cigarette only after having sex. See? Screw one, smoke one. Screw one, smoke one. Screw one, smoke one. Why, I'm down to half a pack a day!"

Signed,

Margaret Trudeau

I had a shotgun like that, an extended tube Remington M870, and I think that it held 8 rounds. I am certain that Justin Trudeau pisses his pants at the notion of Canadians having these.
But, I am sure he is a happy as a clam when his body guards have them, in the trunks of their cars.
