Saw some at the gunshow today, they wouldn't let us handle them, only look at them in the box. For the price, I am going to bet they are not going to be a very reliable piece. They have a lifetime warranty, but you have to send the receipt in with it for repairs. And it looks like it is up to them if it gets covered under warranty or not. This is my personal view of these guns. I guess I would like to know if any one has actually owned one and how it performed. It was right at $160.00 for a NIB 9mm.

I own a Jennings .380 and it is a pertty little pistol. I have fired it one time in the 19yrs that I have owned it. My thoughts on it is it is junk. First of all it is made out of pot metal. I had cap guns when I was a kid that was better made than them. Hot gases and fire comes out of it every where when you pull the trigger.

I would throw it in the river, but it was a gift on fathers from my nephew. So it sits in the back of the safe where it will stay unfired and dirty. I can't even get the dang thing apart. If I could get the firing pin out of it, I would make a paper weight out of it. :mad2:

I had no intentions of buying one, it just was amazing how cheap they looked. I figured they didn't want anyone handling them because they might come apart in your hand. I did notice that the guy next to them was selling rocks, at least they were shiny!

To strip those, don't you have to push in on something on the back of the gun with a little punch or something?

It almost sounds like a joke, and at $160 NIB probably is.

Well, I'll tell you.... I hear a bunch of people who have never owned one of these guns, admittedly never seen one of these guns, and never fired one of these guns reporting that these guns are junk because they heard stories about them.

I'm not saying the guns are wonderful or that I would even buy one (and I'll buy just about anything!) although I probably would. I'm just saying I will with hold my final judgement 'til I talk to someone who owns a Jimenez, has fired one, and knows what he is talking about.

Yes, they are direct decendants of good old boy Bruce Jennings.... yes, they are only $160.... but those are all the FACTS I know about them at this time.

If I saw one at a gun show or one came in to my local gun shop used I would probably buy it. Not because I was convinced it was a great gun but because I know nothing factual about it. After I owned it, played with it, shot it, and knew what I was talking about, I'd report on it. After all, I'm the guy who had 3 gun shops searching for an in good shape RG .22 because they were great examples of the original Sat night special and I wanted one in my collection.

Despite popular opinion, there is a use for a handgun that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars... not everyone who has the right to defend themselves can afford to spend hundreds of dollars. Dirt cheap Rg's and others like them have put many wife beaters, rapists, muggers, and home invasion specialists down. If there weren't cheap handguns those bad guys would have won!

All I'm suggesting is that for a some people with no other choice, facing a rapist with a cheap undependable gun is better than facing him with none!

aw hell dude, you can get a cz82 9mm makarov for $250! they're great little guns!

if money's tight, i would go that route before a jimenez, because sure as anything you'll have ended up wasting your money on a cheapass jimenz when it breaks or blows up....

It's suppose to be the firing pin. I quess I am not holding my mouth right or something. I tried several different times and had no luck. Had a friend who is gun savey try and he couldn't get it apart either. It's not worth taking to my gunsmith. You can read the history on them through Google. I would never recommend them to anybody as for a $100 buck more you can get a S&W 9mm or.40 Sigma ve.:biggrin5:

A buddy of mine found an unintended way to field strip a Jennings 9 mm. He simply fired it, thats when the slide flew off the backside of the frame. He's kinda lucky it didn't hit him in the head or something worse yet.

Was that gun advertised on a Billy Mays commercial at about 4:22 am, with a guaranteed unconditional two for the price of one, if you buy now, and only if you buy now
by immediately calling 1-800-piece of sh!t? Sounds like a headache to me.

I just went to their web sight, I love that the only good thing they can say about the pistol is the size of the screws on the rear sight. Hilarious.
