I bought a scope for my 30/30 a simmons 3x9x40 protarget. Didn't realize the tube size until i went to mount it with 1 inch rings. Scope didn't have rings included. It has the BDC reticle. Im thinking about putting it on my Savage 223 bolt action gun. And taking the weaver scope from it and putting it on the 30/30. Don't need a BDC for 30/30.
Typically the larger tube enables a wider adjustment range which is helpful for longer range shooting. I only have 30mm scopes on my rifles I shoot longer range with...1” tube is dandy on most applications.
