A few years ago Israel has found a cure for some cancers as well, though it went under the rug and I can not find any info on it now. I say some because what I read was Israel has found a cure to cancer and I was very ecstatic to hear this. Read the article and now dont remember what it said. I was to filled with joy to hear and read and all I remember is that they did find it.

University of Edinburgh researchers were successful in testing a promising ‘Trojan Horse’ drug | National Post

Researchers from the University of Edinburgh were able to successfully complete a test for a “Trojan Horse” drug that is capable of killing cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.

Named SeNBD, the scientists tested the drug on human cells and zebrafish, according to The Herald. SeNBD’s ability to masquerade as a food molecule earned its comparison to the mythical Trojan Horse and researchers also compared it to a “metabolic warhead.” Findings from the peer-reviewed study were published in the journal Nature Communications. Researchers say more studies are required to ensure the drug can be an effective way to treat early stages of cancer and drug-resistant bacteria.

“This research represents an important advance in the design of new therapies that can be simply activated by light irradiation, which is generally very safe,” said professor Marc Vendrell, the lead researcher and chair of translational chemistry and biomedical imaging at the University of Edinburgh. Researchers were able to get malignant cells to ingest SeNBD by combining the molecule with a food compound. The University of Edinburgh said this method of delivery is able to take advantage of the fact that typically cancer cells have high food consumption requirements.

Sam Benson, a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Edinburgh, said the drug’s delivery mechanism allows it to enter using the “front door of the cell” instead of having to “find a better way through the cell’s defences.”

The Trojan Horse drug also has light-activated photosensitiser properties, which means it will only destroy cells after it is activated using visible light. Light activation means a surgeon could potentially decide the exact location they want the drug to be activated. The heightened level of precision could allow patients to avoid adverse effects of conventional cancer treatments including hair loss.

Vendrell said the drug is among the smallest photosensitisers that has ever been made. The drug also has the unique potential to open up new opportunities in interventional medicine, said Vendrell, due to its size and ability to destroy harmful cells while leaving healthy tissue intact.

The Trojan Horse nickname is a reference to Greek mythology where Greek soldiers hid in a hollow wooden structure to gain access to a city and attack from the inside.
