Starting off the evening with a few quick posts...

I couldn't help but notice with a few of the posts that people seem to exactly know how much they've shot a particular firearm. Now, I know with a good deal of certainty how much I shoot firearm X at any given time since I reload my own ammunition. BUT, when you've owned that gun for several years -- how can you say that you've shot 10,000 rounds through it? Whos keepin' count here? I mean, I'm sure you can say -- with a great deal of certainty -- that you've shot at least 10,000 rounds.. but what gives? I've got a .38spec that I've shot 13,984 rounds through to date. (See what I'm sayin'?)

i keep track of my rounds for a reliabilty test im doing for the xd.

lots of people just like to know. ive got a freind who collects all his brass and counts them. then he has a note book that he records the number in. every time he shoots.

he says cause he just wants to know.

i need to do that figure out how much i spend a year

I judge mine by how many primers I buy. I load for several calibers, however I keep about the same amount of ammo at any time. I mainly shoot my 5 inch 1911. I buy primers by the thousand, several times a year. Unless I stockpile more ammo than usual, those primers get used in that 1911. Bought another thou today!

I kept track of the wifes .45 and mine for awhile. At the time we were shooting 2-3 times a week. Hers I quit at 3,000 and mine at 1,000rds. When I was young the revolver was king and autos were jam-o-matics unless you paid some gunsmith a couple hundred to line it out. Now a days it's different as most get the job done right out of the box. No more round counting for me.

I try to buy in bulk, back when ammoman.com ran Lake City green tips for $249/1,000 I bought two lots. After the first is gone I know I've shot 1,000. (I only have one .223 that I shoot

I have been shooting since the early 60's and have never paid any attention to the number of rounds fired through my guns. I admire people that are that organized. Good for you.

I have enough trouble keeping track of my reloads statistics for each cal that I reload for. I don't even keep track of the number of times I shoot the reloads. I know I should do this.
I do inspect all my brass each time I reload. I handle them several times during the process and have many chances to check them for weakness. I will watch the high pressure rounds more carefully than the low pressure 45 acp, 44 spc, 45 LC, etc.

I worry more about double charges than anything else. That mistake will reinvent the design of your gun.

I am from the asian ethnic and boy they do hate guns. Recently alot of the peoples having been taking advtange of unarmed asian business owners. Armed robberies. THIS IS WHY IM HERE. Im from the recent gen.s they are old school I need to show them that guns are not only for bad guys. we have guns so that we could use it WHEN WE ought to. WE HOPE WE NEVER WILL but well have it when we need it!!!.

sigh... they just don't get it and I don't think they ever will.

Every day, people kill each other by all kinds of crazy ideas from stabbing, running someone over with a vehicle. arson etc. Out of all the stastics I believe many of the situations exclude shooting but I can't say its out of the picture. AnTI GUN PEOPLES WILL REGRET IT when that time comes and its too late.
