Does anyone have a recipe for a homemade alox type lube to tumble lube cast bullets? I've used a beeswax crisco etc. lube for years but it just gets messy after a while.

I pulled down the first post because I mis-read Runes post.

I believe that Alox may be proprietary to Lee Precision or Lubris Company. If all you want to do is tumble your lead bullets try this:

I have some lube recipes, but I don't think those are what you are looking for. A dirty trick is to call Lee and ask for the MSDS for the stuff. hen look at the percentages of the ingrediants. Do the math and you will come up with a pretty darn good clone.

Found my own answer over on the "cast boolits" site. If you warm up the bullets and tumble them around in a can with a dollop of Johnson's paste wax they will coat very nicely (and polish your bore)
