The 44 magnum I have, after loading Lil’Gun loads had an impressive kick. Launching a 200gr bullet 2,000 FPS.

Just before the sun went down I managed to test 3 different H110 loads in the 41 magnum. Launching a 215gr bullet 1,700 FPS. It did not kick quite as hard as the 44 did with those Lil’ Gun loads but it definitely commanded some respect. I am baffled that this caliber did not get more attention than it did. It’s a very respectable round. Very happy with this purchase.

the 41 was built to split the difference between the 357 and the 44 mag......

problem is......the 357 was 38 special capable and the 44 mag was 44 spl capable

the 41 mag......there was no legitimate 41 special to fall back on and was born a full magnum.

too much for law enforcement.....and the 44 was always deemed bigger and better....

i like the 41, have owned several in the past.....but i always ran reduced loads thru them.
they really needed a ballpark 1000 fps factory special load.....

I’ve decided that when my Henry/SAA collection is complete, I need to top off the collection with one of these...

The .327 Fed Magnum Henry has been ordered. The Big Boy rifles are all done.

I’m down to the 17 HMR Golden Boy. Once I have it, the Henry collection is complete. This one is the low hanging fruit. So close I can just about taste it...

Well crap, the 45 came in with the large loop lever. Picture shows the classic loop and the description didn’t mention a large loop, the model however, is H006CL, which I believe IS large loop. I can fix that but it’s just another expense. It’s otherwise the same gun.

Those 45 Colt loads I made up for the Ruger Blackhawks, coated 250gr Missouri Bullets loaded with Unique, launched 1178 fps from this rifle, or about 770 ft lbs. About 50% increase in power over the 5.5” revolvers.

Just throwing this out there....I have a 45 colt with a small hoop lever. Not sure if they are the same for the brass and steel frames without looking it up but they probably are. If you ever want to swap just let me know.

I am open to that. I am assuming yours is the H012C. The H006 and H012 models appear to be the same part. This is the only caveat I see, not sure when yours was made:

This part will not fit 1st Gen Big Boys made up to 6/24/08 ending at serial #BB0030015.

Thanks to little brother’s recon, I located some 17 HMR ammo. Haven’t been in a real big hurry to get that last Henry off layaway due to the fact it’s been a year since I saw 17 HMR on a shelf anywhere… grabbed 400rds.
