The 22-250 is a bit hotter in speed. Shoots a 55 gr bullet out of the muzzle at 3680 fps and is traveling at 1654 fps at 200 yards.

The 222 shoots a 50 gr bullet out of the muzzle at 3140 fps and is traveling at 1094 fps at 200 yards.

The 22-250 will be here for many years to come. The 222 is short lived according to some gun experts.

You might look at the 223 instead of the 222 and compare that with the 22-250 its a better comparison.

For long range varmint shooting the 22-250 is hard to beat!

.224 is .224,You get 50/75 yards more with the 22-250 then the 222 if the wind allows for accuracy, same with 220-Swift.For barrel life and making a pound of powder last for over 350 loads it's the 222 Rem.+4?
